Runaway

I dreamed that there was an accident outside our house and someone was killed. It involved an 18 wheeler. Alex went outside and was trying to take pictures. I was upset and horrified. I went to a tanning bed and it was $100 and I felt guilty for spending the money. Then the lady added a 20 percent tip which was crazy. When the lady at the tanning place realized we saw the accident, she told us to stop by this sandwich shop in the building and said they would give me a free sandwich, which they did. I went back to the house and I was sharing a bedroom with someone (an old roommate of mine?) and there was someone in a second bedroom. The roommate was talking about moving my office furniture out so I could have a private bedroom but then pointed out I needed the office furniture. But I very badly wanted a private room. Then I had the kids and Buster again and we were in a hotel. We were following a man and I was lost and couldn’t find the room. He led me to it. Then we were almost sharing a room- we had to walk through his room to get to ours. It was strange, but I was happy to be away from the scene of the accident.

Of Dogs and Divas

I dreamed that I was living on a farm. Buster was there and we got another dog that was a lab as well. Unlike Buster, he was fearless and his favorite thing was to jump in the pond and swim. He would get in the pond every time he was near it. I saw a little girl giving him Denta Sticks and someone asked if it was ok that he was eating an entire bag. I freaked out and said no.  The little girl got upset and I said that eithe she or Dylan could give him his one per day.

Then suddenly we saw an army nearby. They saw our house and started running for it. I panicked and tried to call Michael. I was so afraid that I had a hard time dialing the numbers and really had to concentrate. When I called he said it would be fine, that they only wanted shelter and rest. I was in a group of people and when we got back to the house there were guards there and they let us right in. I was riding on the shoulders of my twin brother and as soon as we got through the door he collapsed and passed out.

Then we were in the bathroom getting ready to leave. There were several young men there who were putting on sparkly pink lipstick and they were getting ready to go to the club.

The log in my own eye?

I dreamed that one of Dylan’s friends invited me to go to Hawaii at the last minute. Their family had a private plane and it was a spur of the moment trip. In my dream, though, I was traveling with people my own age.

Gerald, an old teacher of mine who passed away several years ago, was flying the plane. We arrived and it was still early morning. Out first stop was their house but not everyone was awake. It was only 9 am there. I sat outside on a bench and petted a gray kitten I called Smokey. Buster was there and at first they were afraid of each other but then he started licking the kitten and they became friends. They had a bowl of candy that included a few pieces of candy and then some nerds. I ate it all and then felt guilty so was planning to buy them replacement candy. I was eating right out of the bowl and so I got all the nerds wet and so ate them all. I was waiting until a little later to call my parents and tell them where I was.

Dylan’s Friend’s sister came out and I mentioned a friend he no longer hangs out with. She said, “Oh, you still remember the night ladies?” And I said of course I did.

Then we were supposed to go and volunteer at a place (nursing home I think.) as everyone was walking in, something started hurting my eye. I went into a CVS – like store to get eye drops. As I walked in, an older lady I didn’t know said she had some so I didn’t have to buy them but I ignored her. This was the fanciest CVS I had ever seen and looked more like a cosmetics counter in a high end department store. I started worrying that the eye drops, having to be flown in, would be really expensive. I never found any, so I went in the bathroom. There was a big red mark in my left eye and I rinsed it with water. When I came out, the older lady had waited for me and handed me the eye drops. They were scented and I was worried they might irritate my eye. I struggled to put them in- I squeezed and nothing came out but eventually it did and it helped my eye a lot.

A Rowdy Reunion

We lived in a big house but one that needed many repairs. In our master bathroom, we had an area of tile, and the tile was starting to come up. Suddenly, I was told that a lot of family was coming to stay with us. These were all people we had met at least once but I didn’t know any of them. Right as they began to arrive, I went to take a shower and get dressed, and I hoped Michael would get them all settled. I called Kathy and she was talking about how she should have joined those companies that give out free samples. I told her “why? You’ll end up with a or of stuff you don’t use.” I opened my bathroom cabinet and gave her examples. I found some hand sanitizer I set out in my sink to use.

Then I went back out and there were at least 20 people roaming around. I was worried about who would sleep where. There was a brown dog that started to chase Buster. The owner grabbed him but he was growling at Buster. Buster started running wildly around through the crowds of people like he lost his mind. Then he found a baby deer, and chased it into the yard next door. There were other dogs and people and Buster just didn’t care. He wouldn’t come when I called. I tried to tell Michael about the floor but someone had fixed it. But if you walked through the center it was still likely to fall through. We all left to go on a boat tour. It was supposed to be for an Asian group and I was one of the leaders. I hoped they spoke English. As we pulled up, we realized that it would be less expensive than planned so we would make more money on the tour. We decided not to charge for individual tickets. We went into a large restaurant to eat and were with the family again. Everyone was ordering drinks and I said I couldn’t because I had to be sober to finish the tour.

Skeletons (and snakes) in the Attic

I awoke in the middle of the night with this dream.

Michael wanted to fix a grill that hasn’t worked since we moved in and said it would save us $1000 a year. (This is not a grill irl.) I wondered how it would do that but I didn’t ask.

Alex was sleeping in an attic bedroom. It was set up like Austin’s old room but if you went through the door, there was an area win a low ceiling where his bed was.

Michael and I were up there and he had a carton of milk on the floor. There was a notice on it saying that if milk was left in the attic, we were not insured. I was worried that nothing was covered in the attic and wondered if we should move his bed into the main room or even downstairs. I was worried.

We were In the  bonus room discussing and saw something under the rug like a mouse.

Buster started to chase it and I was going to let him catch it. Suddenly it put its head up  and it was a copper head snake. It was very small but his heady was shiny like a penny. I started yelling at Buster not to chase it, and then I hit it with a lawn chair and it flipped back and hit me. I was frantically trying to get it off of me when I woke up shaking.

The un-Cat

I stopped at someone’s house in the neighborhood and they had a cat there. They said they were certain this was a human (named Kathy) who was turned into a cat. They knew exactly who it was and where she was from. As they shared details about her life, the cat somehow confirmed them. Even though I didn’t know who the person was, I offered to take her. We went out the back door of the person’s house and through the neighborhood. We ended up back at our house and went upstairs. Buster saw her and started freaking out, and I took that as confirmation he could tell it was a human in cat form! When the kids and Michael came home I explained to them too, but they treated the cat like it was just a cat.

Snake!

I was in a house (not my own) and the owner had a snake that he was keeping. It was in a cage in the bedroom but I was really worried it would get out. It was time to go to bed and we found Buster in the snake’s cage instead of his kennel, and he was fine but that meant the door was open so the snake could have gotten out. I was not amused.
