On the market again

I dreamed we had begun looking for a new house to buy. I had given a budget of $236k- $300k. We looked at several but didn’t care for them. We looked at one that was like a double wide trailer but it had two entrances. There were two master suites on the floor. There was a huge laundry room too with an industrial washing machine. We were most worried about whether Buster would like the place or not. We spent the night there for several nights then decided we weren’t going to buy it.

Swingin’ in the Rain

Michael and I went back to our old house. The new owners were gone so we just went in through the garage. We got in their bed for some reason. Then they got home and we told the realtor who was with us to stall them so we could make the bed. I was not wearing any pants- just a tshirt. I tried to think of an explanation but ended up finding jeans to put on. We went into the living room and statues visiting with them but it was very awkward. They had the old orange furniture I grew up with in the living room. Then I got up to get something I left in the bedroom and walked  in on the man. I apologized and said “old habits” and left. When we left it was raining but the lady had to get ready for a job interview. We left and went to the Disney offices where Lois worked in my dream. We were in the lobby and there were huge framed Disney posters that were quotes. In the atrium was a golf course. The lady who bought our house came in and was auditioning to be a gospel singer. She kept walking back and forth looking for the right elevator. Then I got in a swing and was trying to swing higher and higher. I was trying to swing to the 2nd floor but got so high I almost touched the ceiling. As I was coming down I got terrified because I felt like I was free falling and might slip out of the swing at the bottom, but I was able to hang on. Once it stabilized after that I started dragging my feet in the ground and messing up everyone’s golf balls just to be obnoxious. I thought that was fun. We left and went to a shady bar. I tried to go to the bathroom and they were at the end of a dark hallway. There were only curtains dividing the toilet from other rooms and I heard other people. I thought it was very creepy and left before using the bathroom. We left and it was still raining.

Cheering for the Home Life

We owned three houses- the one we live in, the one in Oxford and one in North Jackson. We got a call that we had to move our house because a river was being redirected. At first we thought they were talking about the one we lived in, but then realized it was the Jackson one. We went to look at it and decided we should probably just sell it but wanted to make sure it wasn’t fraud to sell when we knew about having to move it.

Then the scene changed and I was watching a school event in a gym. I told the kids I had never been in that gym before. It was a musical showcase where cheerleaders performed, dance team and show choir. When they were done we went to a hotel to get massages but there weren’t enough tables so while everyone else was getting a massage I suggested we play a game. I had a game out and was struggling to get all the pieces sorted out and the board unfolded. Someone yelled because I was too loud and disturbing the other massages. Then someone’s father came and brought tripoly. It was the old style game with the deep buckets for chips and I asked him where he got it. The coins and chips started falling everywhere. Then we went outside and watched the cheerleaders perform again but the other groups didn’t perform. Everyone left then and I went inside a house where a girl I knew from school lived with her fiancé (Kacee). She was picking up after a wedding shower so I helped clean up. Her husband was going to make them not live in the house until after the wedding and she was mad about that. I was setting pillows on the couch and telling her fiancée he should buy Musee bath fizees to smell good. There was a loaf of banana bread that was mine and I was really worried about getting it back to take home.

The Process of Real Estate

I was trying to either buy or sell a house. Ben invited us to a meeting at his real-estate company. The goal was to show us how process-oriented the team was. Will and Davis both worked there as well. The meeting was well- run. In the middle, I looked over and Anna and Henry had a marker and were writing their names on our nice orange blanket. I ran over and told them, “you know better than to write on a blanket.” They asked if it was mine, and I said yes and asked them to please not write on it any more. Against my better judgement I left the market with them. At the end of the meeting, they were putting supplies away and were using empty attic space over the offices for storage but there was no methodology. I told them that to be really process driven they needed an organized solution for storage. Austin’s friend Chris was there and climbed up  in the scaffolding and was climbing and jumping around like he was a monkey.

Haunted House

Right before I woke up this morning, I had a very strange (and long) dream.  We had bought a new house… this time, the new house was actually the one we are in now (that we moved into last August.)  And our old one (not our actual old one) was up for sale.  Our realtor and friend Lynn was selling it, and it was staged really cutely!  I’d gotten a text from Donald Trump saying he was single again if I was interested.  I answered him and said I was married, but I did have a house for sale if HE was interested.  We met him out at a restaurant, but that part of the dream was a blur that I don’t really remember.

Then we were in the new house, but there was a dead body  there.  We didn’t know how to get rid of it, so we just kept it in a black trash bag.  I don’t know how it came to be there.  We had to have people over to our new house, and we had delayed as much as we could, but our friend (and former homeowner association president’s wife) Nancy said we had to.  We were trying to figure out if we could put the bag in an area that was off limits.  That night, she was spending the night but was sleeping in an outside shed.  Michael and I were asleep and I woke up to a terrible storm.  The window in the bedroom had blown open, and it was blowing and lightening outside.  Our radio came on, and identified our yard as being the most haunted place in somewhere (the city? the state?)  They said they’d studied it, and you can see the ghosts at night.  I went and shut the window and tried to lock it, but none of them were locking properly.  I think I finally got them locked, after several tries.  Then the phone rang.  I went out to lock the garage door, and Michael said not to lock it because we promised to leave it open if Nancy needed anything.  Nancy was on the phone and she was updating the emergency contact list for the neighborhood.  She had replaced one person with us.  We got to someone else on the list, and Michael asked “Do they have a bigger house ghost than us?”  I looked at him horrified, and he winked like it was funny.

The Unreal Realtor

We had gone to look at buying a house.  We had brought all this furniture in and so had they. The sales people were very aggressive, and had to wear costumes.  After we decided not to buy it, we had to get everything out.  There was also something weird about flying to some pools really high off the ground.  There was a pervert in one of the pools.  Also – maybe the same dream, maybe different, overnight Alex’s friends came and got him and were leaving to get drunk.
